Welcome to Robert Wilkinson VC Primary School

The School And Its Community

Governors

The School Governors have many legal responsibilities regarding the school and its pupils, but they also have a wider role as members of the community who take an active role in the life and work of the school.  The Governing Body is made up from people representing many different groups with an interest in the school: the Robert Wilkinson Trust, the local community, school staff, the City of York Council and parents.

Our Governors maintain an active interest in the school in many ways, including visiting or helping in school, as well as attending training courses and meetings of committees, working parties and the whole Governing Body.

Friends

We have an active and supportive Friends of Robert Wilkinson School Committee who do a great deal of valuable work for the school.  As well as raising much needed funds, the Friends of the school have an important role in the social life of the school and community and in involving parents in their children's education.  Parents are warmly invited to join in with activities, and extra help is always welcome!  The Friends of Robert Wilkinson School Chairperson can be contacted through the school office.

We take every opportunity for worthwhile involvement in the life of our village and of our city.  By inviting the community into school and by taking the school into the community, we believe that we can broaden our children's horizons and make a contribution that will be valued by other people.
