School Uniform And Equipment
Our uniform is smart, practical and flexible. It provides a valuable sense of school identity and is convenient for parents.
We value our uniform and hope that parents and children will too. We hope that children will wear the school's uniform, designed to be both practical and inexpensive, and that parents will encourage their children to take pride in their uniform.
The school's uniform is:
· Red sweatshirt*, cardigan*, or jumper
· White, red or navy- blue polo-shirt*
· Grey or black shorts or trousers (boys)
· Grey skirt or pinafore or grey or black trousers or leggings (girls)
· Red checked or striped summer dress (girls)
· Black shoes or black trainers
*Sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts embroidered with the school badge are available from the school. Plain items from other shops are also appropriate.
There are some items of clothing, which we feel are not appropriate for school. We ask parents to help us by not allowing children to wear:
· Jeans or tracksuit bottoms
· Football shirts
· T-shirts, sweatshirts, trousers or shorts with slogans, team badges or logos
· Shoes with high heels or platform soles
· White or coloured training shoes
PE, Games and Swimming
For PE children should wear:
- T-Shirt (T-Shirts, screen-printed with school badge, are available)
- Plain shorts
- Plimsolls (children may also do indoor PE in bare feet)
For games lessons outdoors, children may also need:
- Track suit or other warm outdoor clothing
- Training shoes
For Swimming lessons:
-
Swimming trunks/costume
-
Towel
Bags suitable for PE clothes are available from many shops; we also have some for sale in school.
Jewellery
Because of the dangers that it can present, we would prefer children not to wear jewellery at school, but small items, such as stud or sleeper earrings, may be acceptable. Heavy chains and dangly earrings should never be worn. All jewellery must be removed for PE, games and swimming to ensure the safety of others.
Book Bags
We have strong nylon book bags, printed with the school name, in red, blue and green. These are ideal for carrying reading books and homework and can be bought from school.
The sale of school uniform is organised by the Friends of Robert Wilkinson School Association. A stock of sweatshirts, polo shirts and T-shirts will be kept in school and can be ordered from the office. Uniform orders are taken and distributed on a weekly basis.
Other Equipment
Children will be provided with pencils, rulers, etc but many like to have their own stationery equipment.
